Discover Port Lincoln, The Seafood Capital of Australia

Port Lincoln is situated on Boston Bay, part of the Eyre Peninsula and is one of the largest protected natural harbours in the world.

The Eyre Peninsula is the traditional home to the Barngarla (Port Lincoln area), Nauo on the Southern Side, and Wirangu peoples further up the far west coast.

Matthew Flinders came to the area in 1802 and named it Port Lincoln, it was settled by white man in 1839.  Port Lincoln today is a vibrant regional centre and the perfect base from which to explore the Southern Eyre Peninsula.

Ocean adventures

For outdoorsy adventure types, shark cage diving, swimming with sea lions, sailing, windsurfing, paddle boating, scuba diving, kayaking, surfing, cruising, and fishing are all on the menu.

Away from the water, playing a round or two on Port Lincoln’s beautiful 18-hole golf course, horse racing, bushwalking and camping in the National Parks, plus wildlife petting and birdwatching all provide relaxing ways to while away your day.

Bike or hike your way around Port Lincoln

Hikers have a couple of worthwhile options in the Investigator, Parnkalla and the town’s Heritage walking trails. Or for the more adventurous, challenging walks abound in Lincoln National Park and Coffin Bay National Park.

Love a great view? Lincoln Cove, Boston Bay, Lincoln National Park, Thorny Passage Marine Park and Whaler’s Way all provide magnificent coastal panoramas. Nearby, Winter Hill—one of Australia’s most spectacular views—overlooks Port Lincoln and Boston Bay.
